At King Dance Academy, our goal is to provide a safe and fun learning environment for our dancers! Our studio prioritizes dance education as well as team bonding. We want all of our dancers at King Dance Academy to feel loved, supported, and welcome.
King Dance Academy has the recognition of being the longest standing studio in Milford, MA. Since opening in 1988, we have offered competitive as well as recreational classes.
Meet the Team
Studio Director
Carleen Chillemi
Carleen first opened King Dance Academy in 1988 and has the distinction of having the longest running studio in Milford! She has studied dance since she was 2 years old under the direction of Fred Lucier. She also studied with various other choreographers in New York City. During the day, Carleen works as an oncology nurse.
Instructor
Michaela Gouchie
Michaela has been a full time instructor at King Dance Academy since 2018. She started dancing with us when she was 12 years old. Michaela went to Dean College and Bridgewater State University where she continued her dance education before coming back to teach full time. During the day, Michaela works as a Mental Health Specialist in the Bridges program at Milford High School.

Emily Converse
Emily started dancing at King Dance Academy when she was only 3 years old! She started competing with us when she was 7 years old and continued on until she was 18. After graduation, Emily went to Pine Manor College where she continued her dance education. During the day, Emily works in special education at Woodland Elementary School.

Christina Cote
Christina is King Dance Academy's newest instructor. She has been dancing under the direction of many incredible instructors for over 30 years. Her training includes ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theater. She has performed in a variety of stage performances across New England and is excited to bring her love of dance and performance to the King Dance Academy family.

Jayla Lewis
Jayla is currently a junior in high school! She started her dance journey with us at 5 years old and this will be her 12th recital with us! Jayla's favorite style of dance is jazz and her favorite time of year is competition season. She loves the team bonding competition time brings and enjoys how supportive the studio is.

Sarah Schorn
Sarah is currently a junior is high school and has been dancing for 14 years! Her favorite styles are contemporary and lyrical because she likes the flow of the movements and the emotional connection. Sarah helps out with the baby classes on Saturday mornings and loves it because they are fun, playful, and creative!
